Kindness Counts: Make This a Season of Giving

Have you heard of #GivingTuesday?

This is the second anniversary of this special day! It’s on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and i’s meant to encourage people to volunteer and donate to charities and non-profits.

But it’s not just about CASH. Here are 10 ways you can participate in the spirit of giving:

  1. Give five compliments to five different friends. Try to praise them for something besides their looks!
  2. Share a flower or a fresh fruit from your garden with a friend — or teacher!
  3. Pick up 10 pieces of trash that you see at school or at the park. Get your friends to do it with you!
  4. Talk to your teacher about organizing a bake sale to raise money for families in need
  5. Clean out the pantry and bring canned goods to a local food bank
  6. Donate books you’ve read — and loved! — to your local library
  7. Give a jacket you’ve outgrown to One Warm Coat¬†or another charity
  8. Make a card for an child in the hospital to make the holiday happier
  9. Offer to do the dishes tonight — or the laundry
  10. Read to your brother or sister at bedtime
