Happy Chinese New Year!
February 10, 2013

If you are born this year, the Year of the Snake, you will be wise, charming, gregarious, introverted, generous, and smart. Here’s how you can wish your friends a Chinese New Year greeting:    Congratulations and be Prosperous 恭喜發財

Check out these cool recipes to celebrate today: Chinese Corn Soup or iTwixie’s New Year Noodles!

Here are special traditions for a happy Chinese New Year:

  • In the weeks before the end of the year, repaint your house and thoroughly clean to clear out bad luck, making way for the good fortune of the New Year.
  • Then celebrate for two-weeks with special food and family gatherings. This celebration officially ends on February 24!

This is busiest travel time of year in most of Asia because it is so important to be with family and loved ones for the New Year festivities.
