We Celebrate Mo’ne Davis

She’s 13, throws a 70 mph pitch and is playing in the Little League World Series, right now, in Williamsport, PA. And get this: she’s the first little league player to be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine. Not the first girl little league player (and btw, there have only been 18). She’s the FIRST LITTLE LEAGUE PLAYER EVER to be featured on the cover of SI.

How cool is that?

How cool is she?

What do you want to say to Mo’ne Davis? Tell her right here! We’re writing a letter to her from the iTwixie Nation to put in a package for her! Add your message here!

1. Make a bracelet and put it in an envelope addressed to:

iTwixie Friendship Bracelet Game
PO Box 85
Allison Park, PA 15101

2. Write a note for the girl who’ll get it! Say something like: “Hi! I’m Rebecca and I live near Pittsburgh! Hope you love your bracelet”

3. Put an extra envelope in, too, that has 2 stamps on it and is addressed to YOU! This is how you’ll get a bracelet back!

REMEMBER: Wrap the bracelet that you send in another piece of paper, or a little plastic bag. It will keep it from getting damaged! And be sure to write HAND DEVIVER on your envelope so they don’t put your package in a machine.

3 Tips to Be Safe Online

Just follow these 3 tips and you will be sure to stay safe whenever you’re online:

1. Always Show Respect
No one ever wants to feel bullied, mocked or forced to talk about stuff that makes them feel uncomfortable. So stay respectful. Be yourself. And make sure you always show respect to your online peeps. Share your opinions respectfully. And if someone says you’ve upset them, always apologize. Respect = Safety. Get this: the FBI told us that girls who swear, post inappropriate pictures or talk about mature topics, are usually the targets of online predators. So don’t be a target. Just be respectful. You’ll have much more fun AND you’ll always be safe!

2. Never Share Too Much
Your last name, your address, email address, phone number or school you attend, are all examples of things that you don’t want to share online. If anyone keeps asking for this kind of information, tell an adult. It’s just too much information. Here’s a good trick: when you’re about to post something online, make sure it’s something you would be ok with seeing on a billboard on the side of the highway, that anyone could see. If you don’t want the world to see it, don’t post it. It’s that simple.

3. Always Get Help
Whenever you feel uncomfortable with something online, tell an adult. Even if it seems small at the time, get help. Don’t wait. You’ll feel better immediately, knowing that an adult is there to keep you safe. The FBI told us that a lot of girls feel like it’s their fault that they feel uncomfortable online. That’s not true. If something makes you feel uncomfortable, it’s your inner smart self telling you that something is wrong. So always, always get help when you get that yucky uncomfortable feeling.

Use these tips and Be Safe Online! Like these tips? Send them to your friends! Use this link: http://www.itwixie.com/itwixology/3-tips-to-be-safe

For more safety tips, visit our BFFs from the FBI. They put together a cool site just to help us stay safe: http://www.fbi.gov/fun-games/kids/kids-safety

Let’s help all of our BFFs have fun and always stay safe! You go girls!
