Birds Can Make Tools!
June 11, 2009

Scientists have known that chimpanzees make and use tools for their every day life. In a new study, scientists observed “rooks” in a laboratory setting. These black birds, who are related to crows, made tools, too! One rook, even bent a piece of wire to make a hook to reach food.

Scientists consider the skill of using a tool as a sign of intelligence. Whoever thought that birds might be as smart as monkeys?
