Can You Babysit?

Last Time you answered:

1. How do you know how much to charge for babysitting?

   a. $6 to $10 per hour, ask around your area to see what the going rate is, $10 per child plus $4 per hour, $10 for infants and $5 for toddlers, start at $3-4 per hour until you have been sitting for 6 months then add $1 every 6 months and top out at about $8, infant $8 per hour and older child $5 per hour, depends on how much experience you have starting at $1 to $3 per hour and up to $10 per hour if you are red cross certified.

2. How can you keep a brother or sister happy who does not want to listen to you as the babysitter in charge?

   a. do something you know they like but obey house rules, give them respect but obey house rules, remind them what your parents told both of you to do, try to be nice and remind them of the  house rules

3. Do you need special training to be a babysitter?

   a. Practice! ask parents for pointers and concerns, not really, you at least need to know how to take care of children of all different ages. You also need to know how to do CPR, change a diaper, how to prepare food, and how to act in emergencies. You can probally take a simple CPR class at your school or hospital. I took a class, which helped, and if you don’t have an experienced sibling or a teacher to tell you tricks then the first ten babysitting jobs make sure that there is someone YOU can call to help out, though. I suggest you either take a class at your local hospital or community
center or try being a mothers helper.
