Design Project: Fabric Belt, Step 3
July 17, 2009
0

When you’re done with this step, your project will really start looking like your cool, new belt, you’re anxious to wear! Here we go!

Pinch together
1. First “pinch” your sides towards the middle. You don’t have to be exact but make sure each side is even. You may need help for this part: as you are pinching, iron it. Perhaps you can pinch and your parent can iron — or the other way around. Do this to both materials you are using for your belt.

2. Next, lay your top layer on your bottom layer and pin every inch or so along each side until your reach the bottom.
(This will help a lot when sewing)

Fold it
3. Choose one end of your fabric and cut the corners of just a little bit. Roll your top fabric under and then your bottom fabric the opposite way towards the top and pin. This will be the end of your belt.

This is the end of your belt!
See? That’s it!

Next week we will finish up!! Not too long to go now…

If you’re catching up, just visit Step 1 and Step 2 in iTwixology.

And of course, if you have any questions or need some help, let us know! Email us at info@itwixie.com.

Can’t wait til next week for Step 4, our final step in our Fabric Belt Project!
