Sometimes it makes sense to rent the latest equipment until you stop growing so fast. Talk to rental professionals so you keep safe and warm.

The best bet for getting dressed to ski is to use layers of clothing:

- The first layer should be a “wicking” fabric like what you’d wear for soccer or running, that pulls sweat away from the body and will stay dry next to the skin.

- Then put on some leggings and long-sleeved t-shirts.

- Finally, put on something like a ski coat that’s lined in fleece or another warm fabric covered by a waterproof outer layer.

Wear ski pants that open with either zippers or velcro below the knee to allow for large boots and bindings. Wear mittens or ski gloves and goggles to protect your eyes. Consider wearing a helmet, especially if you are learning to ski or challenging your skill level.

Find a good instructor so you can either brush up on or learn the basics. Once you get the basic technique down, you’ll be ready to hit the mountain on a trial that will be super fun for you.
