Make sure you get your parent’s help to make iTwixie’s Homemade Pet Treats!

DOG BISCUITS

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 3/8 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoons chicken or beef instant bullion
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup shredded lowfat cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg white, beaten
  • 1 cup wheat flour

 

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Grease cookie sheets.
  • Combone rolled oats and water in a large bowl and let stand for 10 minutes.
  • Sitr in cornmeal, sugar, boullion, milk, butter, cheese and egg.
  • Mix well, adding flour 1/4 cup at a time to form stiff dough.
  • Roll or pat out dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut with cookie cutter.
  • Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Cool completely.
  • Makes about 2 dozen large biscuits.


KITTY COOKIES

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup white flour
  • 1/2 cup shredded lowfat cheddar cheese
  • 3 Tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons plain yogurt
  • 2 Tablespoons cornmeal

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Combine cheeses and yogurt.
  • Add flour and cornmeal.
  • Knead dough into a ball and roll to 1/4 inch.
  • Cut into one inch sized pieces and place on greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 25 minutes.
  • Makes about 1 dozen cookies.
