iTwixie's Studying Tuco-Tucos!
October 28, 2010
0

Julie Woodruff, studies tuco-tucos and is excited for tween girls everywhere to learn more about her research, Trio and all about tuco-tucos. So let’s get started!

Tuco-tucos are subterranean rodents.  That means that these animals live underground. They are related to squirrels, rats and prairie dogs. Tuco-Tucos live in South America. Some types, or species, live in groups while others do not. Dr. Woodruff studies tuco-tucos both in a lab in California and in the field in Argentina. Trio is part of the laboratory group of tuco-tucos.

Below is a video of a family of tuco-tucos. There’s a mother, father and pups. Got questions? Ask ‘em here! There’s more to come on tuco-tucos!

Aren’t they cute?
