The axolotl is a kind of salamander. It can regenerate, or grow back, an arm or leg if it loses it. People can’t do that! We can only regenerate the tips of fingers and the tips of toes. Scientists are studying the axolotl to figure out how to cause more complete regeneration in humans, like regrowing entire legs.
We can learn a lot from the animals that share this planet with us!
